Friends,

I find it very heartening to let you know that the National RTI Forum
has now got registered as a Public Charitable Trust under section
 6 of the
Indian Trusts Act 1882 with me and Mr Amitabh Thakur as the two
trustees. It was
registered in the officer of the Sub-Registrar; Lucknow through a deed
executed
today, i.e. 12/07/2010.  The name of the
Trust has been decided to be "National RTI Forum”.

The principal office of the Trust shall be situated at 5/426, Viram
Khand,
Gomti Nagar, Lucknow or such other place as the Trustees may from time
to time
decide. The Trust may also carry on its work at any other place or
places, as
decided by the Trustees.

All income, subscription and pecuniary donations for the general
purposes of
the Trust and the income, investments and all other moneys from time to
time
forming part of the general revenue of the Trust shall on the same being
received be paid into a banking account with any scheduled bank for the
purpose
of the Trust.

The objects for
which this trust is established are:

1.         To work in the field of Right
to Information

2.         To make a sincere and genuine
effort to bring all the RTI activists together to act as a nodal body
for all
the RTI activists and activities.

4.         To look into all the matters
related with RTI activists, including their training, guidance, support
and
security related aspects.

5.         To work for legal awareness
particularly in reference to RTI act

6.         To work in the field of legal
reforms related with RTI Act

7.         To work for legal assistance
for people in the field of RTI Act

8.         To edit, print,
publish and distribute books, magazines,
journals, periodicals, brochures and/or any other audio or audio-visual
material for academic and non-academic (fiction and non-fiction)
purposes
related with RTI Act

9.         To run suitable courses/ academic
activities for RTI related matters and syllabus

10.  To undertake all other activities
relevant for Right to Information as a movement

11.       To acquire
moveable and immoveable property for the above-mentioned purposes.

12.       To undertake any other activity
incidental to the above activities but which are not inconsistent with
the
above objects.

Thus National RTI Forum, which till now was working as an associate of
the
Institute for Research and Documentation in Social Sciences (IRDS),
 a
Society registered under the Societies Registration Act 1861 now has an
independent legal status of its own. It shall be working exclusively in
the
field of Right to Information.

One of the first works it has undertaken is to publish the “Journal
for Right
to Information” for which we have already sent the letter for Title
verification to the Registrar of Newspapers for India through the
District
Magistrate, Lucknow’s office. It might be the first magazine exclusively
devoted to Right too Information.

We most humbly solicit and request dear friends to give us Articles in
Hindi or
English latest by 1st September 2010.

Dr Nutan Thakur,
