That's a good moment to learn the virtues of a modern, user-friendly  
LaTeX installation like the one you have on your Mac with TeXShop and  
BibDesk ...

Seriously, even if it might seem "easy" to use the terminal right now,  
that will probably change once you have to deal with several files etc.
