There seems to be quite a bit of chatter about 10.7.3 crashes on the web. The 
delta updater also seems to have been pulled, the combo updater does not seem 
to have the problems. It's probably best to not upgrade to 10.7.3 if you 
haven't done so yet, or at least use the combo updater. The combo updater can 
also be used to fix a 10.7.3 install, it seems. Though it may be a problem to 
get it when things crash all the time. I don't know for sure that the 10.7.3. 
problems reported are exactly the problem we're talking about here, but I can 
very well imagine that this particular problem can affect virtually every app.
