Have you tried highlighting all of the references that you used in your book in 
the main window of bibDesk, right-clicking, and selecting „copy formatted text“ 
(the 7th option from above) and then pasting into an empty word processor 
(e.g., Word)? This should give you a plain text version of all of the selected 
references.
