And the beauty of a bike with an integrated generator lighting system is
from the viewpoint of the rider, there is no sacrifice.  The lights are
there, but if you don't need them you never notice that fact.  They
require no advance preparation to use -- just flip the switch and they
come on -- and they impose no hardship or penalty on the rider when
they're not in use.

It may be an issue to retrofit the new wheel in the first place, but on
an ongoing operational basis, no.
