I have 2 of these systems. Not 12v, 6v. The bottle axis alignment is critical. If you're off there, even a little, the light will flicker because the roller head can't track the wheel. The tire surface matters a lot. The surface might not be smooth so the bottle skips. Or the wheel might be true, but the tire wall irregular... the bottle skips. I switched from the rubber contact rings that came with the units to softer, and thicker, rubber washers (for hot water connections) that I easily found at the hardware store.
