Hello I really like the ride of early 70's racing bikes, they are comfortable reasonably fast and have room for tires up to 30mm if they have standard reach brakes, most do. I own a '72 Schwinn Paramount P13, and a Pogliaghi from about '70, they are really great bikes. In the mid to late '70s they got into short wheel base frames with steeper angels, so be careful what you buy. The prices on those frames have really gone up recently, but they are great buys compared to a new custom. I also have a Rivendell Long-low and Atlantis.
