New info:

I'm not going to spend $120 on a headset, considering the good luck
I've had with run-of-the-mill sets. And to be honest, I'm probably
not going to spring for a Campy or Ultegra model, either. I'm just
not seeing the "value" for the higher price of either of those models.

That brings me back down to $40-$50 sets. Grand Cru, Falcon, New A9,
& Old A9. As much as I like the looks of both the Grand Cru & Falcon,
I'm strongly leaning towards one of the A9s simply because I don't
like Chris' ordering/shipping policies.

The A9s currently available from UK are the new cartridge bearing
style. The price is good, at roughly US$45 delivered (US$85 for two),
& the appearance is "traditional" & silver.

Ben's Cycle website says they're out of stock on the A9s.

RH's A9s are roller bearing, $52 if I pick it up myself, but black
instead of silver. I'm not sure I'd like a black headset. Mike said
he felt like the A9s were slightly nicer than the Miche units at the
same price. No hard data, just a feeling... He definitely didn't
like the New A9's cartridge bearings as much as the old roller style
bearings in his units.

So, how do people feel about black headsets vs silver headsets? Do
the silver ones make you go faster? :-D
