Stainless steel should be drilled slowly with a sharp drillbit and a decent cutting fluid like 'Tapmatic' The moment the drill speed is too high, it generates heat and the stainless becomes tough. A press drill at its lowest speed work well. A hand drill works best if one can still get one or borrow one from an old timer.
