I like to put relatively wide tires on my road bike (a 2005 Jamis Ventura, if it matters) -- 700x28 tires will clear my brake pads, but I find that many tires of this width are too "tall" and rub against the body of the calipers. For example, Panaracer T-Serv Messenger tires are narrow enough but too tall to clear the rear brake calipers (the front has slightly more vertical clearance).
I have previously used cheapo 700x 28 tires from Performance, which clear the brakes, but would like to upgrade -- has anyone had problems with the height as opposed to the width of their road tires, and could anyone recommend a tire in this size that has a low profile? Thanks in advance for any suggestions -- Casey Anderson --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Bicycle Lifestyle" group.
