Casey - What type or model of brakes are on your Jamis? It may be possible to eck out a few more mm's with a different or longer reach brake which might be preferable to a whole new wheelsize conversion - unless you'd be up for spending more money.
I found on one of my bikes, for instance, the difference between Chorus and Centaur brake calipers allowed for the use of Ruffy Tuffys. With any tire larger on that bike there was a problem with chainstay clearance anyway so I was happy to have the cush of the R/ Ts.
