This is a really inspired idea.  With a few bucks' worth of reflective
tape and a cheap LED blinkie, you should be able to get a lot of
visibility, if you can find a good place to put the light.

When you do this, I hope you post pictures somewhere.

But you should also have a fairly decent front light, so you can avoid
pedestrians and ninja bikers.
