A few years back, a neighborhood activist/volunteer in the neighborhood did organize a clean-up, and many bicyclists and walkers came to help out. The local organizer was thrilled and very pleased to see so much help and support cleaning up the neighborhood. Many of the buildings are now vacant, so the neighborhood assn may not be as strong, but if anyone wants to try to organize something, a few places to start are: Boys and Girls Club on Jenewein Rd (Mary Burke - sister of the president of Trek is president of the board): http://www.madison.com/communities/bgcdc/ Dream Bikes - bike shop and jobs training program located in the Allied Dr area. Mary Burke is also involved with this. http://dream-bikes.org/ Allied-Dunn's Marsh Neighborhood Assn: Alice Howard, 2106 Red Arrow Trl #9, Fitchburg, WI 53711, (H)608-270-0954, [email protected] Barry Hayes, 4605-H Crescent Rd, Madison, WI 53711 Alder Brian Solomon - an avid bicyclist - represents that area, and might have further ideas who to contact: [email protected] Robbie _______________________________________________ Bikies mailing list [email protected] http://lists.danenet.org/listinfo.cgi/bikies-danenet.org
