East Mifflin is a bike blvd in name only, and I think that is a
shame. I am pretty upset that it is called a bike blvd without
putting in the necessary features, such as diverters and stop signs for
cross traffic. With the current configuration, it is only a bike route.
With businesses dropping like flies on E. Wash/E. Mifflin (Madison
Dairy/Don Miller), there is very little traffic. Therefore it is mostly
safe. I do like the sharrows, I think they help educate vehicle traffic
to share the space. The corridor is begging for development and it's
too bad a full bike blvd. trial could not be put in place now before
more intensive uses take over the street in the coming years.

university all year long. There are no off road bike paths for me
to take. However, I feel safe on the side roads. When on
occasion I find myself on the E. Johnson bike lane, these

wonderful bike paths. I wish there were more in my neck of the
woods ( I do love the path along the Yahara River and use that
regularly.)

Just curious if anyone else had any incidents today. Both me
and my significant other were purposely passed with much less
than 3 feet to spare [ aka the brush-by] and then had the
offending cars cut into the bike lane ahead of us [ I'm sure
many of you are familiar with this tactic of intimidation ] .
That's three incidents in the time span of 1 hour today. Hate
radio at work?
