The change is not complete yet. Non-Maple Bluff residents may have trouble
testifying - I
believe they need to register in advance of the meeting (24 hours?)
Send an E-mail.
Regarding patronizing businesses - I intend to patronize them more than ever
after the
change is made. It makes no difference if they were against it. I want to
prove them wrong.

Subject: Maple Bluff PUBLIC HEARING on N. Sherman Ave Tuesday April 9th
6:30pm
Good evening.
Many of you have been interested in the North Sherman Avenue Traffic
Configuration
change being implemented by the City of Madison. As a reminder, the City of
Madison City Council has voted to change the lane configuration of N.
Sherman Avenue
from Trailsway, which is just south of Warner Park, all the way to the
Village Limits
near the Village Center at Oxford Place.
The lane configuration change will go from the current fourlanes, two in
each
direction, to what is being referred to as a Twittle.....the actual acronym
is TWLTL.
The TWLTL stands for Two Ways with Left Turn Lane. In essence, there will
be one
lane of vehicular traffic in each direction. There will then be a Center
Turn lane.In
addition, there will be a bike lane in both directions along the curb.
The Village of Maple Bluff Village Board would like to invite you to a
Public Hearing
regarding the implementation of this traffic configuration change in Maple
Bluff. The
City does not have authority to make the lane change for that portion of N
Sherman
Ave that is in Maple Bluff, so our Village Board will need to consider this
proposal.
The Public Hearing will be held before the regularly scheduled Village
Board meeting
on TUESDAY, APRIL 9th starting at 6:30pm. The meeting will be held in the
Village
Center Gym. To begin the meeting, City of Madison Traffic Engineers will
provide
information about this change.
If you want to provide feedback to the Village Board but can not attend
this meeting,
please email me your comments and they will be given to the Village Board.
I will send additional reminders of this meeting and, once we overcome a
few
technological issues, I will forward to you a document that includesan
image of the
proposal.
Thanks. Timk
