I moved here from ATL about a year ago and ran this by my friends at
Atlanta Bicycle Coalition.

Sounds like there has a pretty vocal rejection of the bill and it has been
dropped by the bill's sponsor.

I just found out last week while volunteering with Be Bright that bikes
must be registered here. I wondered how that law came to be.

How was it brought about and was there originally some objection to its
passage?
What are some of the stipulations? Obviously WI doesn't issue a 'plate' to
bikes so is the main purpose to raise money for infrastructure - something
like Michael said he would be in favor of?
What are the feelings toward the bike registration program in WI today?

Thanks for giving me some history on this rule.
