I attended a talk by the authors of "Wheel Fever" at the WI book festival.
http://wheelfeverbook.com/about/

The book covers the early years of cycling in Wisconsin. It was pretty happening back in the 1890s!

The talk was followed by a short bike tour where they pointed out local features. The Van Etta hotel, which used to be on King St., was a designed hotel for tourists.

If you're interested in history, their website has links to lots of online resources. The WI Historical Society has all issues of "The Pneumatic" scanned.
