Good morning, Does anyone have any background or contacts related to paving the Military Ridge Trail from PB to 18/151 on the southwest side of Verona?
This section of path gets very high usage and the current conditions result in an almost unusable trail each spring. Walkers and joggers and cyclists can't keep off of it in late winter/early spring when it's very wet and their footprints and wheel ruts then harden when things dry out. It takes quite a while for the trail to become rideable again, even with fatter tires. Given its location in an urban setting and its importance to accessing a very large employment center, this path should be paved. Would Dane Co. Parks be the lead on this sort of thing? Is the obstacle financial or is it about snowmobile access? I'd be interested in working with some folks to try and make progress on it. Thanks. Grant
