Thanks everyone for the most excellent responses. I see that everyone has their own unique solutions to this challenge and there is no one right answer for everyone. I'm going to procure some Warm Skin (I was especially impressed with the plant-based ingredient list) and will get additional specialized gear if warranted.
Oh, and don't forget- Winter Bike Week is just around the corner. Lots of fun to be had during the week of *Feb 1-8*. Full event listing found here: https://www.madisonbikes.org/winterbikeweek For those of you who have taken a break from cycling, please consider walking, taking the bus or driving to join us at the Winter Bike Week end-of-week gathering to celebrate your fellow winter bikers, all of our supporters, and to chit-chat about the warmer days to come. Everyone is welcome! Cheers and I hope I see some of you out in the cold (although we generally just have to guess on personal identification under all the layers). -india -India Founding Member, Madison Bikes <http://www.madisonbikes.org/> *Envisioning a city where everyone can ride a bicycle conveniently and comfortably, year round.* MadisonBikes.org <http://www.MadisonBikes.org> Follow Madison Bikes on Facebook <https://www.facebook.com/groups/MBIIC/> On Thu, Jan 24, 2019 at 9:04 AM India Viola <[email protected]> wrote: > Hi all, > > I am outfitted to bike through severe cold temperatures, but find that my > nose is sometimes still exposed and in danger of frost nip. > If I pull my merino wool balaclava up to cover my nose, my goggles fog up. > In the past I have used a fleece ear warmer as an add-on around my head at > nose-level, but it's sort of precarious. > > Just seeing what others do for full face protection when the temperatures > (without wind factor) are in the -10 to -20 range? > > -India > > Founding Member, Madison Bikes <http://www.madisonbikes.org/> > *Envisioning a city where everyone can ride a bicycle conveniently and > comfortably, year round.* > MadisonBikes.org <http://www.MadisonBikes.org> > Follow Madison Bikes on Facebook <https://www.facebook.com/groups/MBIIC/> > > > > > >
