I'm passing along some information from Dave Benforado, President of the Village of Shorewood Hills: There is potential for a bike overpass across University Bay Drive as part of the planned 2021 reconstruction of University Avenue, between Shorewood Boulevard and University Bay Drive. Any comments (either at the June 13 public information meeting below, or submitted by e-mail no later than June 27) in support of the overpass (or underpass) across UBay Drive would be appreciated. First public information meeting about the project: *Thur., June 13 (6 PM) at the UW Credit Union Corporate Building, 3500 University Ave.* (enter from the rear parking lot entrance). Details: The City of Madison and Village of Shorewood Hills in conjunction with WisDOT and FHWA are proposing a project to reconstruct University Avenue between Shorewood Blvd and University Bay Drive. The proposed undertaking will consist of reconstructing University Avenue to an urban arterial boulevard that will meet the needs of all transportation modes, including pedestrians, cyclists, metro transit users, BRT, and motorists. A multi-use path bridge or underpass crossing of University Bay Drive north of University Avenue, is also being evaluated for possible inclusion in the project. Attendees will have an opportunity to review project displays and provide comments during the meeting. The meeting will be an open-house format from 6-8 pm, with a formal presentation beginning at 6:30.
