FYI....
The Office of the Associate Director for Data Science and the NIH Library are pleased to announce a Train the Trainer session with Software Carpentry and Data Carpentry. Software Carpentry and Data Carpentry develop curricula and provide workshops to teach scientists computational skills and data tools to help them work more efficiently, make them more productive, and help them create more reliable and reproducible work. The Train the Trainer session will prepare participants to use these curricula to teach workshops at the NIH and elsewhere within the scientific community. Individuals selected to participate in the Train the Trainer session are asked to commit to teaching at least one workshop within the next year. Participants should have some experience with the computational tools described in the Software Carpentry and Data Carpentry curricula, but need not be experts in every area. The Train the Trainer session will be held in the NIH Library Training Room in Building 10 from 8 am - 4:30 pm on April 8-9, 2015. Participants must be able to attend both full days of the workshop and should be able to bring their own laptops prepared with all necessary software (complete instructions for preparation will be provided in advance of the session). A limited number of laptops will be available for participants who cannot bring their own.
