Hi Birders: Shirley & Gerald Paul, Bob & Barbara Frewin spent 4 hours on the island Jan. 1/03 observing 30 species including: 7 Northern Harriers, 8 Rough-legged Hawks, 1 Red-tailed Hawk, 1 American Kestrel, 1 Bald Eagle, 1 Snowy Owl, 1 Great Horned Owl, 1 Northern Shrike, 2 American Robins. We covered the Owl Woods and found remains of 6 Long-eared Owls apparently killed and consumed by a Northern Goshawk.
