A Red-throated Loon was sighted in the ferry channel enroute to Prince
Edward Point from Kingston Tuesday. The loon was seen at close range in the
narrow channel in the ice both on the 11:15 a.m. crossing and again on our
return on the 2:00 p.m. ferry. Other sightings on the way to Prince Edward
Point included several Eastern Bluebirds, one Turkey Vulture, one Northern
Shrike, several Killdeer and Common Grackles, along with other common
