Ontario Birders, save your time and money going to the Hillman Marsh
Shorebird Habitat, as there is no habitat there. About half of the
constructed wetland is covered with weeds, the other half with soybeans.
There is no standing water anywhere, except on the lane that leads you to
the habitat. If you want shorebirds at the south-western end of Ontario your
best bet at this point is the Blenheim Sewage Lagoons, although you need a
permit to access the property.
