Hi All,
Although expected this time of year on a good north wind, I observed a juv.
Black-legged Kittiwake off Point Edward on Lake Huron at 4:30 pm. The winds
were strong out of the NNW. It was exactly five weeks ago I saw the last
one, and five weeks ago that we had the last good northerly wind believe it
or not. A good NW wind is forecast for this Friday. Not much of
significance shows here unless there is a strong northerly wind it seems.
Also a little persistence and patience is needed!
There wasn't much else happening there, except while watching the kittiwake,
a Peregrine Falcon suddenly appeared and harrassed it. Three Snow Buntings
kept appearing on the lawn off and on as the afternoon progressed.

Directions to Point Edward lighthouse: Find Front St. in Sarnia (along
river in downtown) and follow it to its very north end,1.2 km from 402
overpass. Turn left onto Victoria Ave. and travel 1.1 km to Fort St.
(right, north side). Go to end of street and you will see parking lot.

Blake.
