'Twas a great Apr.16 day for birding.
THICKSON's--roadway-Field Sparrow; meadow-2 Eastern Towhees; woods--several
Ruby-crowned Kinglets, many Creepers, Golden-crowned Kinglets and Winter
Wrens; 1 House Wren; 2 Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers, many others AND a
Yellow-rumped Warbler was seen in the northeast corner at mid-morning.
The Marsh Marigolds are leafing, and the shrub Daphne is just breakling its
leaf and floral buds. Spring is here.

CRANBERRY MARSH--5 Ruddy Ducks among several duck species

Under the leadership of the Conservation authority a local scout group
placed several pairs of Bluebird boxes in the land opposite the entry to the
south pathway off Hall's Rd.

For Thickson's--exit 401 at Thickson Rd. (east Whitby), south almost to the
lakefront, turning left to park car alongside the pine woods.
For Cranberry--edit 401 at Salem (in Ajax), south to Bayly, east through
Lakeridge Rd. to the first street (Hall's Rd.), south to either roadside
parking area.
