Weather:
Today saw mostly sunny but hazy conditions persist throughout much of the
day. Winds were light to moderate south-southwest in the morning becoming
moderate to fairly strong south-southeast in the afternoon.

Raptor Observations:
Perhaps quite predictably the flight today was a non-event with mostly
Sharp-shins migrating through. After several days of south winds it is not
unexpected that there would be a stagnation of the migration. We have seen
in years past with similar conditions and wind direction that a volume of
birds would indeed cross further north. But this didn’t seem to be the
case today, confirmed by several observers that made a sojourn northward
and saw nothing that would indicate such a movement. So it would seem that
the peak Broad-wing flight is yet to occur, most likely after the strong
cold front that is predicted to pass through the area some time in the
next couple of days.
