It seems to be a good year for Eared Grebes, as my Dad, brother Mike and I found a Eared Grebe in basic plumage in the NE cell at Townsend sewage lagoon. The bird is associating with several Ruddy Ducks. Directions: From Jarvis at Hwy.#6 & #3 turn west along #3 , go approx.2 km. to Richardson Parkway & turn right, at the first cross road ( concession 14 ) go left or west & lagoons are on the right just past the first farm.
