Hello Fellow Birders,

23 WHITE THROATED SPARROWS in my yard for the last few days all at the
same time.

A pair of Ospreys have arrived and claimed one of the platforms in the
St Mary Cement pond south of Bowmanville where West Beach Rd and Cove
Rd meet by the new bridge.

At the end of Cove Rd. where it goes around in a circle at the dead
end at Waverly Rd. there are all kinds of birds in a yard there:
KINGLETS, NORTHERN FLICKERS, HERMIT THRUSHES, BROWN CREEPERS and there
is a pond full of Gold fishes & Coys. The person living there is a
very friendly Birder and invited me to view his fish when I stopped
admiring all the birds in his yard.

Directions: Take Mill St. S. exit from 401 by Newcastle. And for the
OSPREYS and other birds take Liberty south exit to Lake Rd., to West
Beach Rd. and drive along the lake to Cove Rd.

Greetings,

Bruce Di Labio and I birded Presqu'ile briefly this morning. From Beach 1 we could see 14 Red-throated Loons in the mid and far distant range. Most were in non-breeding plumage but a few were starting to get into breeding colour. There were also three Dunlin on the beach but not much else. Also noted were several Pine, lots of Myrtles and a Nashville Warbler, all along Paxton Drive near the lighthouse.

Directions: Presqu'ile is south of Brighton, on the north shore of Lake Ontario. From Hwy. 401 take the Brighton exit and follow the park signs once in town.

Cheers

Doug McRae
