The Northern Mockingbird remains alive and well near Port Burwell and
was observed today at 1:30 pm.
It is located at "Monarch Landing" about 1km east of Port Burwell on
Lakeshore Road. It is near the feeder area in Ron Allensen's yard at
Monarch Landing, often found in a tangle of bittersweet. There is a
sign for "Monarch Landing" along the road.
It has been a recurring (permanent) visitor to this location all
winter to date.
Port Burwell is south of Tillsonburg, Ontario and on the north shore
of Lake Erie, about 1/2 hour west of Long Point.
In addition,
- a soaring adult bald eagle was seen about the same time.
- an immature bald eagle flew overhead minutes later.
