This afternoon (ca. 4:10) a male Barrow's Goldeneye was on the Rideau River at
the very north end (downstream) of Strathcona Park, just off the edge of the
ice there. (I haven't seen a Barrow's along the Rideau since the end of
January.)

Directions (from NeilyWorld): From Highway 417 (The Queensway) take exit 118
(follow the signs for Nicholas Street). Go northwest 1.3 km to Laurier Avenue
and turn right or northeast onto it. Proceed 1.2 km to Range Road and turn
right or southeast onto it. Travel 0.4 km southeast on Range and turn left or
northeast at Somerset Street East into the parking area of Strathcona Park.
(Or on Range Rd you can turn off and park already at Osgoode [the first left]
and cut over to the north end of the park.)
