Winds were fairly strong and gusty from the south early gradually bearing to the west during the day. Raptor Observations: Not surprising given the weather and earliness of the season, the hawk flight continued to be a bit on the slow side. In addition to the three or four Bald Eagles that were in view for much of the day, thirty migrants were tallied representing nine species in all. Non-raptor Observations: A fair number of passerines were seen from the watch today dominated by a large swallow movement early in the day. In the afternoon, a number of the large maples near the count area were quite busy with warbler activity including Blackpoll, Cape May, Chestnut-sided, Magnolia and Tennessee. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Calvin Brennan ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) SMRR- Lake Erie Metropark information may be found at: http://www.smrr.net/ _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
