Winds were light to moderate from the west becoming moderate to fairly strong and gusty from the west-northwest. Raptor Observations: There was no migration to speak of early in the day under heavy overcast but activity improved when the cloud cover broke up a bit in the late morning. Still overall it was a fairly quiet day, dominated largely by TVs. There was one obvious highlight to the day though when a juvenile Northern Goshawk swooped by at close range. In fact it made several passes before disappearing into the trees over Gibraltar. Non-raptor Observations: A single White-crowned Sparrow was noted on what was an otherwise slow migration day for passerines. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Calvin Brennan ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) SMRR- Lake Erie Metropark information may be found at: http://www.smrr.net/ _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
