Hello,
Today (Nov 12) I've observed a total of 13 LONG-EARED OWLS in two groups
(5+7) in the Jack Pine plantation plus another one as I walked out. The
first group of 5 was spotted just as you enter the plantation. The second
group of 7 was active on the south-east side of the forest. At one instance
there were 5 roosting in the same tree. I have a good feeling that there
were more than what I was able to count. I flushed #13 just before the
feeders as I walked out. I couldn't find any SAW-WHETS.

I've also noted two NORTHERN HARRIER MALES hunting in the fields on Front
Rd, just east of Stella.

DIRECTIONS: From 401 Take exit 593 for Co Hwy 4. Drive South to Millhaven.
Turn right on Hwy 33 to Amherst Island Ferry. Take the Ferry ($8 round
trip). On the island turn left (East) on Front Rd to Marshall 40 Foot Rd.
Make a right (South) until there is an S in the road. Look for the K.F.N.
kiosk.

Note: the Owl Woods will be closed to public during deer hunting season:
November 17 - December 6

All the best,
