The South Peel Naturalists' Club hosted the 46th Peel-Halton Counties
count on Sunday December. Preliminary results suggest an average count
in terms of number of species and number of birds.
High numbers observed for Greater Scaup (8,000 plus) and American Robin
(800 plus).
Of note to winter listers
- Orange-crowned Warbler in the Bronte Creek Provincial Park Campground
access of Upper Middle Road west of Bronte on the east side of Bronte Creek
- Gray Catbird at the northwest corner of Deer Run Road and Winston
Churchill Blvd (south of the QEW)
- two female Harlequin Duck on the Lake west of Ben Machree Park off
Lakeshore Road west of Mississauga Road at bottom of Maple St S.
- Yellow-rumped Warblers were seen at the bottom of Hurontario St. at
the lake in Mississauga.
