For all you weekend birders (or birders who can't make it out until the weekend), the Varied Thrush is still at Cold Creek Conservation Area. Visitors got good looks today (last one 15 mins ago, just in advance of a Sharp-shinned visit).

Cold Creek Conservation Area is located on the 11th Concession, between the 15th and 16th Sideroads. From the South, take HWY #27 North to King Road (Nobleton). Turn left on King Road and drive for 4 km to the 11th Concession (look for the sign for YMCA Cedar Glen Camp) and turn right (North). Cold Creek Conservation Area is about 3.5 km on the right, with a large sign out front. Park on the side of the road into Cold Creek. The first (and only) driveway on the right is to my house. Walk down the driveway, and try to keep back from where it splits.

Happy Birding!

Geoff Simpson
