The Varied Thrush described below was again present about 10:50 am when I arrived, and showed up again about 30 minutes later, feeding on the same stump as shown in the original photograph. It gets a bit wary/skitish when there is a group of birders. Apparently the red-bellied woodpecker was seen prior to my arrival. About 11 other bird species at the feeders.
I am pleased to to report that the birders present, some with large camera lenses and tripods, all approached the site quietly and respectfully, and maintained the distance away from the bird requested by the generous property owner (where the driveway splits into two sections). Another success story so far.
