I viewed the Black Vulture this morning with Bill Wilson and Jerry
Guenther from Hillside Ave. As reported the bird left the roost with
Turkey Vultures at 9:15 am and flew west.
While watching the bird we chatted with residents from three different
homes on Hillside, all were alert to seasonal roosting of Turkey
Vultures in their backyards, were interested in the Black Vulture and
appreciated the use of our bins to actually see that it was different
from the regulars. While I am sure there are exceptions as long as you
behave rationally, are polite and responsive you will be well received.
The bird was in Norway Spruce on the east side of Hillside Ave. between
South St and Rowanwood Ave. Tweedsmuir Ave. runs parallel to Hillside.
Directions
From 403 exit at Rousseaux continue west to Wilson turn right remain on
until it ends at Main St/Osler St. Turn left on Osler. The left at the
second set of lights (South St.) and left at the first street - Hillside
Ave.
