A BLACK VULTURE was photographed at the Shuniah landfill site, just NE of
Thunder Bay, on Feb 11, by Scott Parker. It was still there today Feb 15.
It may be the same bird that was seen feeding on a deer carcass in Sleeping
Giant Provincial Park Oct 31 (John Woodcock et al), and may have been at the
dump since last year, since birders never check that spot.

Our first Thunder Bay District record for Black Vulture was June 8 2010 at
the Thunder Cape Bird Observatory (JW), possibly the same bird, since all
these locations are fairly close to each other.

Directions: Hwy 11/17 (trans-Canada Hwy) west of Mackenzie, east of Thunder
Bay, the entrance to the dump is on the north side of the highway.
