After a meeting at the Catfish Creek Conservation Authority office at Springwater Conservation Area yesterday (July 14) afternoon, I decided to walk north along Springwater Road to meet my ride.
As this walk was completely unplanned, I didn't have my binoculars with me. But from the wet open woods on the west side of Springwater Road, opposite the corner of Catt Road, I'm quite certain I heard a Kentucky Warbler singing at approximately 4:10 PM. The habitat looks very good for this species. It would be easy for someone to verify this from the road (I don't live in the area). I suspect the woodlot itself is private property. Springwater Road runs south from Talbot Line a few km west of Aylmer, Ontario.
