Posted with permission of Ontbirds Coordinator:

There is a program
to which you can post your first spring sightings of non-rare bird species:
17th Journey North (www.learner.org/jnorth). According to Joe Duff of
Operation Migration, recently speaking in Toronto (Journey North follows the
eastern Whooping Crane migrations), about 1.6 million
students in Canada and U.S.A. now follow the arrival of spring across North
America using data
provided by generous contributors such as Ontbirders.  Target species for which
data would be
appreciated include:

American Robins– first sighting, first wave seen
Barn
Swallow – first sighting
Frogs
– first heard singing
Hummingbirds– feeder up, first sighting
Loon
– first sighting
Monarch
Butterfly– first sighting, first egg, first larva
Oriole
– feeder up, first sighting, first nest building
Red-winged
Blackbird – first sighting
Othersigns of spring (i.e. Eastern Comma and Mourning Cloak butterflies seen
across
Ontario in recent days)

PLEASE
DO NOT POST THESE SIGHTINGS TO ONTBIRDS. PLEASE REGISTER AND REPORT SIGHTINGS
TO: www.learner.org/jnorth

Also,
for the Presqu’ile Waterfowl Festival being held this weekend, I have 3
documents
available on PRIVATE request from donald_da...@yahoo.com:

Waterfowl
Weekend poster, Waterfowl Weekend press release, Sheet listing 16 Waterfowl
Festival
highlights/attractions (“What’s Happening Where”).

 Thank you
