Observation start time: 09:00:00
Observation end time: 14:30:00
Total observation time: 5.5 hours

Official Counter: Justin Bosler

Observers:

Visitors:
A lonely day on the Tower. A total of 4 visitors.

Weather:
Fog and haze in the morning. Partly cloudy skies through midday with
increasing cloudiness in the afternoon. Temps. ranged from 4 to 9C. Winds
were minimal at 1-7 kph out of the ESE to SSE.

Raptor Observations:
One small pulse of raptors in the noon hour was about it for the day.
Surprisingly, in that one pulse was a light adult Rough-legged Hawk and an
adult Golden Eagle. Conditions for raptor migration deteriorated early in
the afternoon with increasing cloudiness and calm winds.

Non-raptor Observations:
Actually, not too much of interest aside from finches today.

Common Redpoll numbers continue to climb. I tallied no fewer than 255.
American Goldfinches were well represented again with 470+. Still, only a
handful of Pine Siskins and White-winged Crossbills.

Later in the afternoon a flock of 14 Lapland Longspurs flew over. A few
minutes later a small group was observed returning to the east, which I
assumed to be part of the original group.

Predictions:
The forecast looks like a mirror image of today. Fog early giving way to
mostly cloudy skies. Winds at less than 5 kph. High of 10C.
