This evening while birding Stayner sewage lagoons I spotted and was able to photograph a very photogenic Boreal Owl. The bird was seen south of the sw cell on the walking trail leading south and away from the lagoons. I was able to view the bird for about 20 minutes and about 5:00 the bird flew and I was unable to relocate it. I've sent a pic unto Jean Iron and she confirmed that it was a Boreal Owl. I'm in the process of sending a pic into OFO webpage. Directions to lagoons and area where bird was last seen: The lagoons are located near the NE corner of Stayner. They are accessed from Mowat St. N, from either Hwy 26 on the south end or Sideroad 27 & 28 Nottawasaga on the north end. There's a laneway access from west side of Mowat. There is a mowed walking trail access near SE corner of SE cell. Take walking trail until you come to the T then turn right on walking trail leading west, bird was seen on the western trail about 2000 feet from T Corey Jenkins Stayner 705-428-6846 _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
