The flooded fields of Milton Rd, east of Ottawa, today finally had Snow Geese, likely more than 1000. There are still several thousand Canada Geese. Others: 1 Great Blue Heron, 1 Northern Pintail, 1 Ring-necked Duck, 1 Rough-legged Hawk being chased by a Common Raven, and 2 Sandhill Cranes. The cranes were visible from Smith Road today.
Cobb Creek, 2.5 km east of Bourget, had dozens of distant Canada Geese and little else. At Anderson Rd. and the 417 were 20+ Turkey Vultures, circling above. -- *www.babina.ca* Robert Alvo Author: "Being a Bird in North America" (2013) Tel.: 613-236-0660 219-140 Mann Ave. Ottawa Ontario K1N 1E5 Canada robal...@gmail.com _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
