Seen around 11:15 am from Roundhouse Park just after an unidentified eagle
flew over: a few turkey vultures sitting on and hovering over the top of Royal
Bank Tower. These birds began to rise as others joined them from the roof and
finally just above the top of the building formed a kettle of 30 or more. They
appeared all to have been roosting on the roof of the Royal Bank. After gaining
altitude in a tight kettle they all peeled off to the West. I wonder if they
had been there all night?
The Royal Bank building is one of the big bank skyscrapers centered around King
and Bay Streets in Toronto's business section. Roundhouse Park is on Bremner
St. just to the South.
