At about 8:30 this morning (Apr 6) Ruth Lambert and I found 5 Sandhill Cranes in the field that is the SW corner of Milton Road and Smith Road east of Ottawa. There were large gatherings of Canada Geese and a few Wild Turkey in the surrounding fields.
Direction to Milton Road (from Ottawa) Take Hwy 417 east and exit at Boundary Road (go North on Boundary), turn right (East) on Russell Road (Regional 26) and drive approx. 3.0 km to Milton Road (Regional 85). Go north (only option) on Milton Road for about 4km to Smith Road, turn left and look for cranes. Brian Mortimer 964 Normandy Cresc.
