While the early morning started off slow at Point Pelee NP, action really
picked up into the mid and later morning.

The highlight of this morning was undoubtedly the Eurasian Tree Sparrow that
was seen flying north over The Tip from Lake Erie. It is believed to still be
in the Park but has not yet been refound. A White-eyed Vireo has been pretty
reliable on Tilden Woods Trail, and a Hooded Warbler was also seen in that
area. At least 27 species of warblers have been seen in the Park this morning.

Other pretty good birds reported this morning include Merlin, Mourning Warbler,
Little Gull (flying past), a possible Western Tanager (reverse migrant), and a
Yellow-headed Blackbird at The Tip, Summer Tanager and Cerulean Warbler near
the staff house, Clay-colored Sparrow north of West Beach, and Black-billed
Cuckoo at Woodland Trail.

The Tip area is full of Red-headed Woodpeckers and there are quite a few
warblers and songbirds in the DeLaurier area and at the staff house south of
the Boardwalk. The weather is beautiful in the Park today.
