A group of us had a very early Western Grebe in Lake Ontario about 150 yards
offshore directly south of the main pond area. We had very good views of the
bird for several minutes, then as I was getting my scope, it just disappeared.
We searched and searched for awhile afterwards but to no avail.

Anyways, note a Western Grebe is around but it could be anywhere along the
lakeshore at the usual haunts.

Colonel Sam Smith Park is at the foot of Lakeshore Blvd & Kipling Avenue in
Toronto.
