Festival of Flight; Wood warblers were the star attraction today and good sightings lasted throughout the afternoon. Both Bennet Rd and Spicebush Trail were great places to be dazzled. Bennet Rd is closed to vehicle traffic and the park has benches spaced along the way so you can sit back and rest your neck. E-birders reported a total of 27 warblers. The Prothonotary's have started bringing moss to their nesting sites and are almost a given on Tulip Trail. 5 thrushes were seen missing only Hermit and 5 vireos were seen missing only White-eyed. Red-headed Woodpecker numbers have dropped and are becoming harder to find. With both Yellow-rumped and Blackpolls warblers observed the whole gambit of warblers in-between are available. Best day so far.
