While conducting vegetation surveys I spotted 11 Nighthawks foraging over Ruthven around 4:30 pm today. They were traveling in a group heading east over the Grand River. To get to Ruthven take Highway #3 to Cayuga. Turn north onto Highway #54 and continue driving several kilometers to the entrance of Ruthven. Turn left and drive to the parking lot at the back. There is a bird banding station run by Rick Ludkin of Haldimand Bird Observatory as well.
